Community Clean Up and Contest


The Health Staff of the Keewaywin Health Center led by Dorothy Kakepetum, Brighter Futures Co-ordinator  organized a community clean up and a contest to decide who had the cleanest area around their homes. The Clean Up was a two day event, the first day was spent  cleaning the area around the business section of the community. Each offices did their share of cleaning their area in front of the office buildings. The second day was devoted to cleaning the community residences. For the contest five judges were on hand to decide which residences were deemed to be the cleanest. The judges, Robbie Kakegamic, Mandy Fry, Lavein Martin, Eric Martin and Devonna Thompson picked Skip Kakegamic's resdience as the number one cleanest area. He received  $300.00 as the first prize. Second and third prizes were also awarded which went to Romeo Rae receiving $200.00 and Silas Kakegamic $100.00 respectively. A wiener roast was held on the second day of the event at which time the prizes where awarded
