Howard Hamption visits Keewaywin


Howard Hampton MPP, NDP provincial leader, visited Keewaywin on the evening of February 5th, 2003. He arrived approximately 7:00pm and left around 9:30pm.

He met with the Chief and Council as well with some of the community members. The informal dicussion  centered around various topics which included youth sucides, lack of recreational facilities, education, housing, infrastructure, health, all season road, traditional territory, mining and forestry groups, and Rama dollars. All in all, for a very short time that  he was here it was an informative meeting for both Howard Hampton and community of Keewaywin.

Refreshments were provide by the band office.

After the meeting Howard Hampton toured the e-Center and also had an opportunity to take a look at one of the pumping stations which supplies well  water for Keewaywin.
